Best remembered for its short appearance by Ronald Reagan as "The Gipper", 'Knute Rockne, All American' is a hagiographic account of Norwegian born Notre Dame University football star turned coach Knute Rockne. Though ably played by Pat O'Brien I didn't find the movie all the interesting, I'm not a football guy, though I can apricate that the film felt like something of a watershed to many a sports minded Catholic. For a far better inspiring sports movie from around the same time see 'Pride of the Yankees'. **
